 INFORMATION
BEGINNING SQUASH?

If you are new to squash you will most likely not know that squash is the healthiest, sun safe and family oriented sport. Your local court operator will provide you with the rules of the game and equipment is also usually available to hire or borrow. New players will benefit from using a larger ball that bounces more and travels slower. There are different types of balls and as you progress you will change your choice of ball depending upon your level of skill. Most centres offer social squash opportunities where you can hone your skills until such time as you may be wanting to become more competitive where you can join a team and play on a regular basis. Most centres will also offer coaching. Whilst you do need a partner to play the game a solo workout is good fitness training.

COMPETITION SQUASH

Brisbane City Squash offers competition squash with both daytime and night time fixtures for beginner players through to the elite level. Our players know that squash is the healthiest, sun safe and family oriented sport with many generations involved in the sport. Fixtures run all year round with the summer competition commencing in September. Fixtures are generally separated by the Brisbane River with a southside competition and a northside competition. Junior fixtures are currently being played on the northside which will also cater for southside juniors. University squash is popular and so too is Masters Squash. Tournaments are scheduled around the various Brisbane venues and our players will also participate in regional, interstate and international tournaments. Competition squash offers players a social avenue to enjoy their sport whilst providing an outlet for that competitive spirit.
